On
Monday, June 13, 2005 (Day 3), we arrived in Villefranche,
France, a little port village overlooking the capital Cap
Ferrat peninsula. It is known as one of the pretiest settings
on the Mediterranean coast and we definetly agree. The yelow,
red and pink pastel stucco houses that crawl up and down
the hillside was an amazing site to see! The ship was not
actually allowed to dock in Villefranche so we had to be
tendered in which was a nice little relaxing ride.
The excursion we chose was Nice and Monaco
On Your Own. We spent the morning in Nice, the capital of
the French Riviera, where we got to walk the Promenade des
Anglais, the beach and Le Vieux Nice (The Old Town). In
the afternoon, we traveled to the principality of Monaco,
most famous for the Grand Casino of Monte Carlo. We walked
through the Jardin Exotique (Exotic Garden), took a Monaco-Tour
via a little train and overall really enjoyed the sites!
